Universal R-410A Safety Training

Course Description:

R410A operates at considerably higher pressures than R22 and requires the use of special tanks, gauges and recovery equipment. R-410A systems employ thicker walled tubing, newly developed compressors, and a higher grade oil that requires different installation and service procedures.  Technicians must understand the safe handling, proper charging procedures, and operating characteristics of R410A systems.

PURPOSE OF TRAINING

R-22 is being phased-out. New equipment will use R-410A, a refrigerant that can operate at up to 70% higher pressures creating potential safety issues..

As the phase-out of R-22 progresses, older equipment will need to be retrofit to one of several substitutes. These substitutes have a large temperature glide requiring special knowledge in charging procedures.

This program is designed to educate HVACR technicians in the proper safe handling and application of R-410A Refrigerant, and retrofit procedures for R-22 systems.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Specifically designed for:

  • HVAC technicians

  • Service contractors

  • Facilities maintenance personnel

  • Safety Managers
